Sigma Theta Tau Recognizes Nursing Excellence at the University of Michigan
Rho chapter honors outstanding nurse leaders in annual spring ceremony.
Every year the University of Michigan Rho chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, an international honor society of nurses, recognizes its leaders and scholars who are making a real impact on education, practice, and the community through their leadership and commitment.
This year’s program honored the following individuals for their outstanding contributions both to the U-M School of Nursing as well as to nursing as a whole:
- Dr. Jody Lori (Clinical Assistant Professor, Director of the Office of Global Outreach) – Excellence in Nursing Research and Excellence in Nursing Leadership
- Cynthia Fenske (Lecturer) – Excellence in Education
- Dr. April Bigelow (Clinical Assistant Professor) – Rising Star
- Ruth E. Clark (Alumna) – Distinguished Service
- Christine M. Pionk (Adjunct Lecturer) – Excellence in Nursing Practice
- Gay Landstrom (PhD Student)– Excellence in Nursing Leadership
- Melissa Dulic (BSN, Class of 2011) – Student Leadership Award
- Anna Evola (BSN, Class of 2011) – Student Leadership Award
- Kristin Kingma (BSN, Class of 2011) – Student Leadership Award
Since 1922, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) Honor Society of Nursing has been recognizing nurse scholarship, excellence in practice, and exemplary leadership as part of their mission to support the learning, knowledge, and professional development of nurses committed to making a difference in health worldwide. Currently STTI has over 130,000 active members in 86 countries across the globe.
