Dr. Redman Receives NIH Grant
Dr. Richard Redman, along with Dr. Letha Chadiha (U-M School of Social Work), has been funded by the National Institute of Health’s Institute of General Medical Sciences for a project entitled U-M Social Work/Nursing Bridges to the Doctorate. The 3-year project is designed to partner U-M with two other Master’s level institutions with nursing and social work programs (California State University at Los Angeles and Eastern Michigan University) to prepare Master’s students from underrepresented groups to develop research-focused track records and competitive applications to the PhD programs in nursing and social work at U-M. The goal is to recruit students who will conduct research on health disparities. This important project reflects The University of Michigan and the School of Nursing's commitment to interdisciplinarity, diversity, and developing scholars.
