Regents Approve DNP Program
On Thursday, June 17, the University of Michigan Regents approved the School of Nursing’s request to establish a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) graduate program. The program will be designed for advanced practice nurses who already hold a Master’s degree in nursing and has been developed in accordance with national standards and criteria established by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). Demand for DNP programs has been very strong nationally and there is a high level of interest for a program at the University of Michigan as well. Planning for implementation of the program is now underway.
