Doctoral Student Carmen Alvarez Receives Debt Management Award

Award recognizes those who have committed themselves to public good despite personal financial need.

School of Nursing Graduate Student Instructor Carmen Alvarez has been honored this year with a Debt Management Award from the Rackham Graduate School. The $10,000 award is given to those doctoral students who commit themselves to public service.

The Debt Management Awards were established by anonymous donors to encourage Rackham doctoral students to pursue public interest careers upon completing their graduate degrees. This award is designed to lighten the financial burden for students with sizeable loan debt who will pursue public interest careers.
