Dr. Kane Low Receives Travel Grant for Netherlands Project
Assistant Professor Lisa Kane Low has received a Weiser Faculty Grant from the U-M Center for European Studies-European Union Center to support travel expenses to The Netherlands in order to initiate a collaborative project with the Midwifery Science Academie Verloskunde in Maastricht, The Netherlands. Dr. Kane Low will partner with Dr. Raymond De Vries, who has a joint appointment at the University of Michigan and the University of Maastricht.
The project—“Models of Maternity Care: Comparative analysis of the Dutch and U.S.-based systems”—will focus on the development of an ongoing infrastructure between the maternity care systems at the University of Michigan and the Academie Verlsokunde. Dr. Kane Low and Dr. De Vries will also collaborate on continuing to support ongoing clinical exchanges with midwifery students from both programs.
