Welcome to a New Year, Plus a Video from U-M President Schlissel
Major progress on our high-tech academic building excites the UMSN community at the start of 2014-15.
Students and faculty making their way to University of Michigan School of Nursing (UMSN) for a new semester have been marveling at the evolution of our new building over the summer. An August 20 “topping” ceremony marked completion of the steel structure, and the gorgeous top-floor view of the Huron River valley is becoming apparent. Progress can also be monitored via a live webcam. The building is scheduled to open for fall 2015.
Meanwhile, as the 2014-2015 school year begins for undergraduates, UMSN is proud to welcome the impressive newest students in the BSN program.
Fall 2014 Graduate Students
Our graduate students also bring strong portfolios to UMSN through their test scores and work experience. Graduate students are encouraged to join the American Association of Colleges of Nursing’s new Graduate Nursing Student Academy. It offers high value opportunities and resources to nursing students enrolled in masters and doctoral programs. Membership is free and offers educational enrichment opportunities in nursing leadership, career resources and policy engagement at the local, state and federal level.
New Era at U-M
The University of Michigan is excited to welcome its 14th President, Mark S. Schlissel. Enjoy his welcome video below and learn more about his September 5 inauguration. President Schlissel paid a visit to UMSN in late August. He met with students, faculty and staff while touring the UMSN facilities including the Clinical Learning Center and research areas. Dr. Schlissel was also able to see progress on UMSN's new academic building currently under construction.
