UMSN Faculty and Alumni Selected for Prestigious Health Policy Fellowship
May 24, 2016Two of the eight health professionals selected for the National Academy of Medicine (NAM) and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) Health Policy Fellows Program have strong ties to the University of Michigan School of Nursing (UMSN). The fellows were chosen in a national competition for highly accomplished health, behavioral, and social science professionals who have an interest in health policy. Beginning in September, the fellows will spend a year in Washington, D.C., working on health-related legislative and regulatory issues with members of Congress and the executive branch.... Read more

Greater Collaboration Between ICU Nurses and ICU Physicians May Minimize VAP Risk
May 18, 2016SAN FRANCISCO ─ Greater collaboration between intensive care unit (ICU) nursing and medicine could help to minimize ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP), according to a study presented at the American Thoracic Society's 2016 International Conference.

Midwives Give Blood, Sweat, and Tears in Uganda
May 12, 2016University of Michigan students often travel to developing countries to learn about health care outside the United States, but for a group of eight School of Nursing (UMSN) midwifery students, their clinical immersion experience in Uganda was also emotionally compelling.
